Website notice. This page republishes the bundled Vintokyo app policy below. Firebase Hosting and Cloudflare may process ordinary request and network information to deliver, secure, and log website traffic. Theme and consent choices are stored locally. Google Analytics 4 G-ZE54SDHWHR loads only after explicit opt-in; reject and withdrawal keep analytics disabled and trigger deletion attempts for Vintokyo GA cookies. No Firebase Analytics or GA request is intentionally made before that choice. Website event filtering excludes OCR or scanned text, prices and amounts, receipts, notes, photos or media, exact location, addresses, report text, support messages, email, phone, names, and other user content.
Native app clarification. Website consent does not control native-app telemetry. In the iOS app, Settings → Analytics controls future Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Mixpanel collection; the current stored default is enabled. If you explicitly submit a Shop Issue Report, it can include your report text, a hashed app-scoped install identifier, app/device/locale/time-zone context, shop metadata, and saved or visited state. A location report includes precise GPS and accuracy only when its location option is enabled. Camera frames, selected photo pixels, OCR text, parsed prices, and conversion results are not intentionally attached to analytics events.
Privacy Policy

Vintokyo (the "App") is a Tokyo vintage shopping guide developed by emonster, inc. ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
1. Information We Do Not Ask For
Vintokyo does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or Apple ID. Vintokyo does not include advertising SDKs and does not use data for tracking across third-party apps or websites.
2. Camera and Photo Handling
If you grant camera permission, Vintokyo uses the camera to scan visible retail price tags and estimate currency conversion. Camera frames are processed on the device using Apple's camera and Vision OCR technologies. Camera frames, freeze frames, selected photo pixels, OCR text, parsed prices, product names, and conversion results are not intentionally sent to emonster, Firebase, or other analytics services.
If you import a photo through Apple's photo picker, the selected photo is processed on device for scanner features. Vintokyo does not request general access to your photo library through this picker workflow.
3. Location
If you choose map location features, live weather, or source-market detection, Vintokyo may ask for your current location. Location is optional. The App may use location to show your position on the Tokyo shopping map through Mapbox Maps, show local weather through Apple WeatherKit, or suggest a source country and currency for the scanner. Source-market detection and weather location labels may use Apple MapKit reverse geocoding. Vintokyo does not intentionally send your precise location to emonster analytics services.
4. Local Data Stored on Your Device
Vintokyo may store local preferences and app data, including onboarding completion, appearance settings, home currency, saved shops, visited shops, recent scanner settings, free-scan allowance state, cached StoreKit entitlement state, cached shop content, and cached exchange-rate snapshots. This data is stored locally using iOS storage APIs such as UserDefaults, files, and Keychain where appropriate.
5. Content Updates and Images
The App may request static content manifests, shop data, and shop or guide images from Firebase Storage, and may use Firebase Remote Config to control app availability, minimum supported versions, weather availability, and telemetry policy. These services receive standard network information such as IP address, request time, device/network metadata, and requested Firebase Storage paths or URLs.
6. Analytics and Diagnostics
Vintokyo uses Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage, measure onboarding and purchase flows, diagnose crashes and non-fatal errors, and improve reliability. Analytics events may include app version, build number, platform, device family, locale, selected currency codes, onboarding actions, tab or feature usage, paywall actions, purchase and restore outcomes, product identifiers, saved/visited workflow counts, map actions, content update status, and scanner permission or limit events.
Vintokyo uses an app-scoped install identifier for analytics and crash correlation. We do not use this identifier to track you across unrelated apps or websites.
7. Purchases and StoreKit
Vintokyo uses Apple StoreKit for in-app purchases, non-renewing passes, lifetime unlock, offer-code redemption, and purchase restoration. Apple handles payment information, billing, refunds, and App Store account data under Apple's terms and privacy policies. Vintokyo receives StoreKit product identifiers, transaction status, purchase dates, and entitlement information needed to unlock paid access.
8. Exchange Rates
When you refresh exchange rates or when the App needs a rate that is not cached, Vintokyo may request exchange-rate data from Frankfurter or another configured provider. These requests generally include currency codes and standard network metadata. Vintokyo does not intentionally send camera frames, OCR text, scanned product names, manually entered amounts, or conversion results with exchange-rate requests.
9. Support Communications
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message content, attachments, and technical context you provide. We use this information to respond to your request, troubleshoot issues, maintain business records, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations.
10. Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate and improve the App, provide support, comply with law, or use service providers described in this Policy. Service providers may include Apple, Apple WeatherKit, Mapbox, Google Firebase, and exchange-rate providers. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
11. Retention
Local preferences, saved/visited data, cached content, and cached exchange-rate snapshots remain on your device until you change settings, clear app data through system mechanisms, or uninstall the App. The install identifier used for analytics and crash correlation is stored in the iOS Keychain and may remain until removed by system behavior or device reset. Analytics, diagnostics, and support correspondence are retained according to our provider settings and business needs.
12. Your Choices
- Camera permission: You can grant or revoke camera access in iOS Settings.
- Location permission: You can skip location features or revoke location access in iOS Settings.
- Offline use: You can use bundled and cached content offline, subject to data freshness.
- Saved and visited lists: You control the shops you save or mark visited inside the App.
- Support emails: You decide whether to contact us and what to include.
- Uninstalling: You can delete the App to remove local app data from your device, subject to iOS behavior and backups.
13. Cookies and Tracking
Vintokyo is a native iOS app and does not use browser cookies inside the App. Firebase and other services may use app-instance identifiers or similar technologies for analytics and diagnostics. Vintokyo does not use advertising identifiers for tracking and does not track you across third-party apps or websites.
14. Children's Privacy
Vintokyo is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, or the minimum age required in your country. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at privacy@emonster.com.
15. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled in connection with the App. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
16. International Data Transfers
Analytics data, diagnostics data, image/content requests, exchange-rate requests, and support emails may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States or countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your country.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Privacy Policy.
